SAN FRANCISCO, CA (KPIX 5) Thanks to modern culture, a lot of kids measure success by money, power, and status – at any cost. But this week’s Jefferson Award winners are coaching a different message at schools around California and their students are thriving.

USTA/USPTA National Community Service Award (2014)
NEW YORK – Harper for Kids received the national USTA/USPTA National Community Service Award at the annual awards presentation during the Tennis Teachers Conference on Aug. 25 at the Grand Hyatt New York.
The Community Service Award is a cooperative award presented annually by the United States Tennis Association as part of the USPTA’s awards program. The award recognizes a USPTA member for exceptional community service through the game of tennis.
The husband and wife duo received the honor for the opportunities they provide children through their organization, Harper for Kids, and the game of tennis.

USPTA NorCal Community Service Award (2012)
PALO ALTO, CA - Harper for Kids received the USPTA NorCal 2012 Community Service Award at the annual awards presentation on February 17, 2012 at Stanford University.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Harper for Kids was honored as an AT&T / SF Giants Community All Star at a dinner held at AT&T Park which was attended by Giants players, alumni and AT&T customers and executives.
Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame - Youth Advocate Award (2015)
OAKLAND, CA - Harper for Kids was honored as one of the Multi-Ethnic Sports Hall of Fame’s Community Honorees and received the “Youth Advocate Award” on February 5, 2015 at their Annual Induction Ceremony held at the Waterfront Hotel in Jack London Square in Oakland, CA.

Touchdowns for Kids (2016)
SAN FRANCISCO, CA - Harper for Kids was honored as a Touchdowns for Kids program beneficiary with an on-field presentation at the San Francisco 49ers game held at Levi’s Stadium. Touchdowns for Kids is a collaborative program sponsored by the Taube Family Foundation, Koret Foundation and the San Francisco 49ers Foundation. Since launching the program in 2011, the Taube Family, Koret and 49ers Foundations and supporters have donated $1.5 million to support Bay Area charitable organizations serving youth.

“Partners in Educational Excellence” Award (2018)
California - Harper for Kids was awarded with the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) “Partners in Educational Excellence” award from four of their regions: San Francisco and San Mateo counties, Los Angeles County, Palm Springs and Riverside County, Brawley, San Diego and Imperial Counties! The ACSA is the largest umbrella organization for school leaders in the United States, serving more than 17,000 California educators.
